Career Launcher Workshops under the DISHA Project
In partnership with the Kerala Youth Leadership Academy (KYLA), NPoC implemented the DISHA Project—an ambitious career readiness initiative designed to support students from rural colleges across Kerala. Delivered in two phases, DISHA 1.0 and 2.0 reached over 85 colleges, directly benefiting more than 5,000 students, many of whom had limited access to structured career guidance.
Recognising the need for practical, accessible, and engaging career support, our team led the end-to-end design and execution of the programme. We developed a robust curriculum grounded in self-awareness and professional development, trained a cadre of certified facilitators, and delivered interactive, campus-based workshops that spoke to the unique challenges faced by students in rural settings.
The sessions focused on core career-building modules:
-
Understanding Personality and Self-Awareness
-
Attitude Building and Soft Skills Development
-
Resume Writing and LinkedIn Optimisation
-
Crafting Cover Letters and Professional Communication
Workshops were designed to be highly participatory, blending reflection, discussion, and real-time feedback to ensure students walked away not just with tools, but with clarity and confidence about their career paths.
For NPoC, DISHA represents more than a training programme; it’s a step toward bridging the rural-urban gap in career opportunities. By embedding these interventions within local colleges, we hopefully helped level the playing field, giving students from underserved regions a stronger voice and vision for their futures.
As we look ahead, DISHA stands as a model for how inclusive, well-designed capacity-building efforts can unlock potential and inspire upward mobility, one student, one campus at a time.
